Favorit immobiliser

Featured Replies

Hi i have a Favorit with a broken immobiliser wich will not let me start the engine.

Dose anyone know how this can be removed from the car and let me run it without it in place other wise its the scarp yard 4 the old girl.

I dont think it will be a standard immobilizer, pretty sure they didnt have one.

So its a case of finding where in the ignition circuit the wires have been cut and join them back together again.

on our favorit you could just reach under dash and un plug imobiliser box then put the two wires together as if it was never there! and work with out it!

So it is do able assuming its an after market system and they never came with imobilisers?

ok thanks guys im finding it hard tho as it has 7 wires going all over the place,

i didnt say it was a 1995 glxie if the makes any diffrence

It looks like it will be an aftermarket system, so it depends on who fitted it.

Just follow the ignition wires to a cut in the loom. Shouldnt be to tricky to find.

They had an importer fit Meta system. Does the key work? (put the LED out). If it does you could try disconnecting and reconnectibg the battery. The keys are not available now, each car could have up to 5 issued throughout its life.

You could remove it, I think the dash panel has to come out and the immobiliser box is located and connected in the passenger footwell at the base of the A post. The circuits cut into I think are the starter and fuel pump and its just a case of reconnecting these by passing the immobiliser box.

I thought you might know for sure ;)

I had the RAC remove mine as my favorit would not start when i was on way from work, sorry didn;t see how he did it though.

I had my mate from the dealer remove mine before it let me down. The keys are a pain when they wear out and i don't think you can get replacements. They were standard UK fit on later facelift Favs made by META.It's clocks out (not a big deal ) then the box is attached to the bodywork with a load a wires attached, unfortunatly i did not see what was chopped/removed as it would be too cosy under the dash !
