Rear Interior Lights and Number Plate lights ...

Featured Replies

Decided to swap out the incandescent lamps for Philips LED lamps ... done the front two easy enough ...

But the rear interior lamps were a right pain to remove ... thick I've broken one of them as although it's gone back (easier then how it came out) ... it appears 'loose' 😞 Is there a metal spring clip on both sides ?

Also, the same with the number plate lamps ... right sod to get out, but again it's very loose when re-installed.  Have I lost a metal clip from one side there as well ?

Thinking I might have to get OEM replacements, luckily they don't appear to be that dear (phew) ..

Rear interior lamps are removed by prising from the bonnet end. Use a plastic tool and don't dig too deep into it. Keep trying until you find it lifting out

The rears may not be from the bonnet end, depending how they are fitted. From memory the spring is at the switch off end. A circle ️ on the light.

You can see the rear interior lights here.......

From memory there should be no prising needed. There is a spring one end and a catch the other. You slide the body towards the spring end which should free the other end to be pulled out.

Sorry if I've misinformed, or maybe I'm remembering the wrong end! Anyway, here is a video of how to do it.

I did the same and put 4k Phillips led units in front and rear + wing mirror puddle lights and the difference is great. Also makes the vehicle look more up to date. An upgrade I'd recommend to any Yeti owner.
