ive run the AT3 on my outback when i lived in australia  so i know they are a good tire as i put mine through hell....  virtually no road noise  and still  great grip  in  all weathers and  hard wearing ... i put 70k on my AT2 with a lot of  off roading  and when i replaced them there was still  about 5mm left on them .. think if im going down this route of a lift then i will get new struts ,springs , top mounts  ,poly bushed etc  so its all done and dusted  first time ...

im gonna throw it out there and say exactly  the same way  it was fitted to my  RS1600i rep....... via a metal bumper ;)

Under the bumper foglights were never a factory or dealer option for the XR3i or RS1600i

The Mk3 XR3i and RS1600i did have metal bumpers but the optional spot/driving lights came with "L" brackets.  Four pre-drilled holes in the front crossmember and the lights bolted to the bracket sticking out just above the bumper.

In the 80's myself and three other mates bought an XR3i each, all identical.  I fitted above bumper driving lights to all four cars.

Normal size mate just thought I’d see if it could get up the muck pile now that I have lifted it and put bigger a/t tires and it did it no problem 👍
