Thinking about fitting led strips to door cards and was wondering if I could hardwire them to the wire for door handle lights.

The wires supplying the handle illumination are quite thin so I wonder how much extra current they could carry?

There must be a permanent live in the door so the handle led supply could trip a relay to power extra loads.

Hi fitted today and works fine, used cool white but will change to warm white. Will do the other doors later and add a photo later of the one I fitted today

Is the factory wire hot after a while?

Wires are fine no additional heat. The cool white is to bright going to change to warm white.
