Bloody Car

Featured Replies

2 Days out of warranty, just two days and water is leaking into the passenger footwell. All of the underside of the dashboard is wet and when I go round corners I can hear running water,

My Question is not how to fix this problem, It's "Does My Car hate me?"

Two Days out of warranty:mad:

In all seriousness Is there anything to check for before letting the dealers charge me the earth?

Well if it's only happened 2 days after warranty I'd argue it was there 2 days before - look at the seals and see whether they've degraded - Skoda would be pretty reasonable about it I'd have thought.

Do you know where these seals would be?

I'd have a (friendly ;)) word with your dealer, it's likely they'll try to sort you out FOC as it's a known problem.

If the whole of the dash underside is wet, would this not be a heater matrix??

If it's only 2 days out, talk to the dealer ASAP, you may find that Skoda will be reasonable about sorting it.

If its wet under the dash its either..

The pollen filter is inside the car in the heater box.

But it does have an intake for the air to come in.

Hi,

I had the same problem with my old 1.4 8v W reg Fabia. Sounded like a bath when driving around a corner!

Turned out to be the plenum chamber was blocked and some other hose. Cost about

Thanks For all your replies guys, I will let the dealership take a look on Friday and let me know. Iv'e also developed a really loud rattle in the passenger side door, sounds like something in there has broken or come very loose. I think the entire passenger side of the car is knackered, which means Ill blame my other half :P
