Glow plug light.

Featured Replies

Evening guys, hope you all had a nice Xmas. So I hadn’t been out in my car since 14dec as I had a small hand op. Finally yesterday I was able to go out in it all was fine car run fine (10 min round the block) again today I had to go out journey to take no more than 15 mins, again car was running fine then as I approached a roundabout and changed into 3rd gear the car juddered and the glow plug light had came on and the car went into limp mode, so I came to a stop turned the car off and back on and all was ok again. So a while ago I decided to take it down the mway for a good run all in all 45 min round trip and the car didn’t miss a beat, I think it may have needed a dpf regen as the revs had stayed at 1000rpm and after the mway run had returned to 700-800 rpm. So could the glow plug light coming on be down to either the car being sat for around 11 days in all the crap weather and/or it needing a dpf regen?. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Car is an octy vrs estate 60 plate.
