Water sloshing noise from behind dashboard

Recommended Posts

Hi can anyone help me new to the forum and to owning a skoda vrs

Recently got skoda vrs 2013 diesel and there is a steange water sloshing noise coming from behind the dash when i start and turn off the vehicle last five mins on shut down then it stops but the noise now has started to appear as your driving along if you didnt havr the radio on you can hear water sloshing side to side like water in a bowl can anyone tell mr have u had thid or what it is.

The garage i got the car from say there isbnothing wrong with the car and they havent heard the noise but i do everytime i drive the car.

Seen on google other people mention this sloshing noise but same as me no one has any issues with their vehicle the car drives fine heater works and temp gauge works.

I was originally hit with the silica bag exploding but this has been solved with 10hrs flushing system with skodas specialist kit for this. Heater matrix was flushed and so was the radiator and all pipes and all coolant replaced.

But i am lost what is wrong mechanics dont know whats wrong is it just theyve cut corners on sound proofing or is there some underlining issue at work.

Any help or any answers greatly appreciated

This thread is mostly about blocked sunroof drains but it does contain instructions on how to remove the plenum chamber covers and have a look inside - this is the usual location for water which should have drained away but hasn't.

According tto the garage it isnt a headgasket as they say they have checked thst previously so have i got air in the system some how ?

OP says he hears the noise when starting and stopping the engine. Car won't be moving so any water not draining away would not be sloshing around. Going by his comment about air bubbling in the header tank would suggest it still needs bleeding.

" as your driving along if you didnt havr the radio on you can hear water sloshing side to side like water in a bowl " pointed me to the plenum chamber.  Being able to hear sloshing in the coolant circuit implies a pretty large void in the cooling circuit which would give you some other, rather worrying, symptoms. On starting and stopping - is the fan dipping into or moving the puddle? Easy enough to pop the cover off for a look. But the bubbling on opening a cold engine does point to some residual air bleeding out.

Hi everyone,

I have a Skoda Octavia MKIII VRS Wagon 2016 with a water burbling sound coming from behind the dash after having driven approx. 20-30 minutes of daily driving, at operating temps, and then turning the engine off (sometimes occurs with engine start stop enabled).

Temps and dash does not report any errors. Scanned with OBD11 and the only errors that do show are:

Front air door distribution motor B109154

and...

Fresh air, recirculation, flow flap motor B108B71

But I don't believe its related at this stage (happy to be proven wrong).

I have put up a video with the sound on YouTube. The sound appears around the 10-13 second mark in the video.

Any help would be appreciated. TIA.
