Virtual Cockpit film peeling off

Featured Replies

Hey,

I am posting in hopes somebody can send me a picture of their virtual cockpit to clear some things up.

I noticed today that when the sun shines on the VC, the right side of it, the plastic area where it shows the fuel level, not the display itself, has like a bubble on it that wont go away when touched.

It's like a screen protector that caught some air under it.

The bubble is just under the Reserve Bar.

I touched it and it doesnt move, its ligther in color.

Ill post a picture in a few hours, to makr things clear.

Its a small thing but its a new car, could it be dirty somehow or should I go to the dealer?

You can't see it at all during night, I'll snap a picture during the day as soon as I can.

Należy ją lekko podgrzewać i powoli odrywać .

Hey, thanks for the input. I google translated it and I see what you mean.

I went back through my old photos and it seems it's been there for a few months, but this is the first time I notice it.

It's under the R on the bottom right.

Now that I looked better in my old photos, it is on both sides.

For the fuel indicator , that “bubble “ will turn red when you are on low fuel 😁

Well in that case the left one will do something else.

Yep, thanks.

Here's a shot of mine from when I got home from Tesco this morning. The low fuel light had just come on. It's a 2021 SE L, built week 1 2021.

I see, you also have something under the red bar as well I think. If that doesn't turn red, what is that?

Oddly I'd not spotted it until looking at the photo. I'm not worried about it as the car is going next weekend.

Do you mind asking the dealer what that is please? @NeilRW

If you can, of course.

When I say going, I mean I'm trading it in for something completely different that's not from the VW group.

I see. What are you getting?

Kia Soul, so I'm going electric!

Enjoy!

On the other hand, I think we concluded that the bubbles dont light up. What are they then, a manufacturing error that everyone has?

No idea, the manual doesn't make any reference to them as I checked that yesterday. If they light up it could be some sort of confirmation for technicians, but I doubt we'll hear a definitive answer.

Their meant to be there,

There are actually light sensors used to adjust the brightness of the display.

here a clip from the workshop manual
