So new year and I could not resist a bit of tinkering... and that is my cover story for having not gotten around to this sooner... (like last year).

There is a feature of the software that we've largely ignored. Trying to find a good use for it. Well, after a bit of thought and looking...

We may have one and the health hub is the first one to go :)

Introducing... The Health Club.

Yep, I used all my creative nouse for 2022 on this one.

This is a link to it:

In essence it's a section of the forum that behaves like a club. I.e. you join it, you post topics. But it's a club if that makes sense. ie others with this subset of interests. One of the biggest challenges in any forum is making it easier to find stuff, be that content or people of a like mind. so we join a club, the local running club if that's your torture.

Other clubs to follow will make more sense ie you have to join to see the posts, or reply to them. Health Club is open, so anyone can still contribute while we get them off the ground.

You'll see a new navigation entry; Clubs, I know awesome creativity here. This will take you to the clubs, others to follow as hinted at...

eg regional meets & events, EV talk and so on :)

One could say that's a "simply clever" idea, Colin. :)

There might be ;) *IF* there is and that's a vanishingly small if... It will be closed and content will only appear to those members. There will also be a set of very tight rules to agree to on joining said club. So not like any club of the eton mess.

any chance this new 'directory' will be pushed further up the page?

underneath Project and Build and above Social  may mean more views?

thats a good idea Olduns has up there...

This specific forum will disappear in a few days.

clubs will become a top level menu item next to forums.

the content will appear in the activity/unread just as it does now, so if anything that’s a higher billing.

there are a lot of forums. The most common bit of feedback I get is…. It’s too confusing where stuff is. Most of this is related to the model forums. But the additional forums on many levels just distracts and takes up space. Clubs in a way give it a whole clean layer to exist within. Most folk won’t join the forum to post about a run. Once you’ve been around a bit, the community/ancillary side takes on more importance.

hth.

i 'think' i get it... :D
