I'm not particularly worried about it, just more curious. When I turn the key to turn the ignition on in my vRS Fabia, there seems to be almost a squelching noise before starting the car. I take it its something to do with the air-con. Any ideas?

Sounds like the fuel pump ???

Mine does exactly the same and yes, I think it is to do with the fuel pump.

Nothing to worry about and quite normal as I have found via previous threads on here.

Ok Ta very much. Never thought it would have been the fuel pump though. You learn something new every day. LOL.

Fuel pump primes the system with pressure so when you start it goes stright away.

Petrols do this when you open the door.
