2.0 fabia turbo?

Featured Replies

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but found out that Audi and VW have a 2.0T engine.

Is it possible to fit this this type of turbo to my 2.0 engine (2004 fabia), or is the turbo engine too different from mine?

It's not going to be a case of just bolting on a turbo...

I strongly suspect the two blocks are quite different, despite both being 2 litre. :)

However, there might be aftermarket kits about for that engine, but its a lot of work, especially with engine management etc.

No.

or is the turbo engine too different from mine?

Yes.

Buy a Fabia VRS and modify it, of buy an Octavia VRS/Elegance/L&K and remap it.

I don't see why it should be impossible, despite being completely different engines.

To be safe, you should probably budget up to

I believe it's possible to turbo-charge the 2.0l 8v lump found in the Fabia (as there are kits for the 2.0 8v Golf GTi), but unfortunately, as the engine is not designed for a turbo, you can only run comparitively low boost.

For the money it would cost to do the conversion (and the relatively small gains), I'd be looking at just putting the money towards a faster out-of-the-box car :D

Intrestingly I was reading an Audi magazine in AmD last week and it stated that the 2.0 Tdi was a development of the 1.9 so the mounting points may be similar??? It would however I am sure require lots of work and be very expensive.

I don't think we're talking about the diesel

I'll get my coat:O

im sure theres a few things out there for the 2.0 8v i got one myself- but maybe buy a vw mag they might have ads for the 2.0 8v in there tuning mods etc etc :)

oooooo thats got me interested:rolleyes: 188bhp 2.0 furby:D

However the 2.0 8v in the Fabia isnt the same as the MK3 Golf engine.

isn't it? I thought they were both 115bhp & 8v with the Golf also having the option of a 16v lump.

You learn something new every day.:)

They have the same output. But there are quite a few differences to move emission regs etc onwards.

does that make it better or worse?

Hey it doesnt mean a turbo kit wouldnt work though. But being as the 2.0 in the octy/fabia has enough problems running most of the while with the emission crud in it I cant see a turbo helping much. Better off lumping a 1.8T in there.

interestingly enough.

the exhaust manifold/turbo/downpipe from a vrs is a direct fit on the 2.0 8v engine.

but the pressure at which the turbo runs on a vrs is far too high for a petrol engine. but they can be adjusted to suit.

or take a look at the neuspeed homepage there is a supercharger kit 4 the golf IV 2.0 throttle by wire engine 4 less then 2000.

but we dont have neuspeed here in germany that suxx.

and you can also download the install guide for the kit there , everthing looks very simple.

yes but the neuspeed supercharger kit wont fit in a right hand drive model because the brake servo and the power steering resovoir is in the way

ohh nice my luck.

have you got neuspeed in uk.

Glad to see the question wasný as stupid.

My car is left hand drive, so I'll look at the neuspeed.

Glad to see others interested in the 2.0L as sometimes the forum seems too Vrs biased.

I know it's the top dog, but hell they don't sell it in my country!
