Superb mk3 tdi 190 dsg 154,000 miles

Featured Replies

My question is the flywheel has started rattling and I know it will need changing very soon. Do I also need to change the clutch packs aswell or would it be OK not to keep costs down. I have no codes just rattling on tick over.

I've got a 2011 VW cc 170tdi DSG.  I had to get the Dual Mass Flywheel changed approx. a year ago.  The Indy I used said no need to change the clutch pack and they had never seen one needing changing.  The CC had 240k miles on it when the DMF was changed.  The Indy said if the clutch packs do start to slip they can change the coding to increase the pressure on the plates.

On my 2017 Superb Sportline 190 TDI DSG I'm starting to get a knocking noise like there was on the CC before the DMF was changed.  So a trip back to the Indy it will be for another €700+ bill.

My 2016 superb also 190 and on 154,000 miles now. Could do without the expense just after Christmas, buts needs must.

I’ve got the same on mine, same engine. I’ve had it since the car was hit in July last year. It went in for a DSG service at Skoda in Grimsby. Tech there said if it gets worse do it, but it’s not worth it due to mileage (156k). I’ve spoken to an auto box specialist regarding a T5 DSG we were having sorted. They reckon about £800 all in and that the clutch is internal to the box on a 6spd unit.

I had mine in at a local VW Indy.  They said it is just starting to go and will get some time out it yet.  Quoted €950 to change the fly wheel.  Covers the part and 6 hours labour.
