65 plate 1.0 citigo won't start

Featured Replies

Hi

My wife is having problems with her 65 plate 1.0 citigo automatic. Started playing up last week with the headlights switching on themselves approximately 20/30 seconds after locking the car. Then the following day, the car cut out when she flashed her head lights. Now the car won't turn over. The dashboard lights will illuminate, but there is no noise and no attempt from the engine to turn over. I tried jumpstarting with my car incase the battery was flat but it was just the same

Anyone had this or any ideas?

Have you done the battery disconnect/reconnect to reset the electronics?

And it may be that the battery is dying.

Can you get OBD codes off it with a cheap dongle?

Hi

Thanks for the reply..I toolk the cables off the battery, waited 20 minutes or so, put them back on but it was still the same..

But I wiggled  the indicator stalk, flashed the lights etc, and turned the headlights on and off and the thing started, so loose wire somewhere or bad earth?

Get the ignition switch checked.

A replacement does not need new barrel/keys.
