Does anyone know if a non-absorbent number plate light gasket exists for Fabias, made of rubber rather than foam? 

 

I'm going to get my rusty boot tidied up and want to make sure this particular issue is addressed, to try and stop rust coming back in this weak spot

 

alternatively, has anyone tried just cutting new ones out of thin rubber in the right shape?

Don't think you can get these but i did make my own pair from 3mm rubber sheeting and used a silicone grease around both sides was working good untill car was written off

Never thanked you for your reccomendation, now I've replaced my tailgate I've ordered some and will get to work with a craft knife!
