Service Schedule for 2022 vRS

Featured Replies

I collected my vRS last week which came with the service plan.  I paid for 2 x Oil and Inspection services.  From what i gather the only replacement parts this includes is the oil change.  Where do i find out what the service schedule is as its currently showing me the next service is in 707 days!!  I'm keen to understand what else will need doing as i can't imagine it only needs 2 oil changes in 4 years, especially with it being a performance car.  I imagine i'll end up over servicing it if anything.

I hate that you don't seem to get a service book for VAG cars these days.  My Seat Ibiza 3 (3 cars ago) came with a booklet that fully described all of the checks that were due every year.  Including things like check wheel bearings on year 2, check xxx on year 3, xxx on year 4 etc.  My previous Audi didn't come with anything and you are reliant on the dealer telling you when things like brake fluid is due.

Get you plan in writing from who sold you it.   ie. What is not included.

(That is what they need to be giving otherwise they might be mis-selling and some are.)

Is there a Pollen Filter change included Year 2?

An Air Filter at 4 years / 40,000.     Spark Plugs, DSG Oil change.

What about missed stuff due at year 3 if no Service then.

If a Petrol TSI or Diesel TDI then it does just need 2 oil changes in 4 years if under 40,000 miles is covered.

IF LEFT SET ON VARIABLE SERVICING AS YOUR HAS BEEN.

(A Hybrid needs more like 4 oil changes in 40,000 miles.)

Not much done year 2 or 4, but you would want the Year 3 stuff doing.

?

So it it servicing in your plan year 2 & 4  or just year 1 /9,400-10,000 miles and year 2 /18,000-20,000 miles.

????
So does the Service Plan not just show 2 fixed service services, year 1 & 2.

    Oil & Inspection services?

even,

As some get,  Just an

Oil & Filter Service & an Oil & Inspection Service.

Thanks for the info :)

I got the details of the Service Plan in the post today.  It just says my plan includes 1 x Oil and Inspection Service and 1 x Oil and Inspection Extended Scope.  It says contact my local Skoda retailer to book in a service when its due.

So it looks like Year 3 i'm due a brake fluid change at the same time as MOT and then year 4 is the 2nd free service plus spark plugs and pollen filter.

I'd still prefer a booklet with the car so its really clear what is due and when.

???
Is it a NEW Car with a Service Plan

or a Used car with a 2 Service Plan?

No Service Book since 2013 so that is that.

Really you need actual detail of what is what because there are other members that have posted and they got an Oil change year 1 and a look see & vacuum & wash.

The new Fixed regime is Fixed with Extended Scope year 3.     Variable / Flexible you need to ask about as nothing is clear to see but stuff needs doing & 3 years in the UK, pre Warranty Expiring for many, pre-MOT.

The Brake Fluid is @ year 3 if you want then.

If you are going 2 years to the first service then the Pollen Filter is due then.

Its a NEW car, it had 10 miles on the clock when i collected it.  I bought the service plan which gives me the first two services for £199.  The service intervals look to be variable / flexible as the Skoda Connect app is telling me 707 days for Service Inspection.  Oil change says "Not Found", i'm assuming i haven't done enough miles yet for it to work out when the oil change is due.

Simplest is ask the Dealership Dealer Principle by email if the Service Plan you bought for £199 requires the car to be on a Fixed Service Regime & then the reply will be in writing and from a member of staff that should know and that later the Dealers Owners can not say we got rid of them, they were new here.  Even if they do.

The cars service schedule indicator will be date or mileage (whichever comes first).  It might be set to variable (max 2 years) but you might reach a mileage limit first.

The actual mileage will change depending on how you drive, I think the brochure says can be anything from 9000 to 20000 miles

However bear in mind that most service plans are designed for certain mileages, and if what you have been sold is inconsistent with your expected mileage, then possibly mid-sold so need to get a remedy from seller.   (Take a look at chart posted earlier, does your plan fit with what is due on that, if not you have been sold wrong plan, as going to have to pay for what isn’t covered, but needed.

My dealer set the service interval to 1 year 15k km for oil without me even asking, but I would have asked for it anyway.

I asked him how it actually needs to be performed and he said you can do extra oil changes if you want to, so I'm doing oil/filter after 4-5k and then afterwards I'll do it every 10k km or so. Service intervals on new cars are way too long, they're stretched to the very limit to make it cheaper for those on a lease to own a car, but it hurts the engines in the long run.

It might help people know what is what if people actually say or show if they are talking about a TSI or a TDI and how many miles / km they do annually.

Then there are people buying a car and keeping them past a Manufacturers Warranty or those Leasing / renting them and handing back in 2 or 3 years which is what 'Flexible / Variable'  servicing is really about as far as many are concerned.

I have 2.0l TSI vRS. So I'm going to do oil every ~10000 km. I drive around 50/50 city/town, my every day commute is pretty short so I only get to maybe 15-18k km per year.

That's exactly what I mean, the variable servicing is stretched to the very limit of not killing the car, it's not really meant for a car you plan to keep.

As it was just a few years back and still is for some that want Servicing & Maintenance.

Not that a Minor / Interim or Major / Inspection Service has much Maintenance

Mine is the 2.0 TSI. I do upto 10,000 miles a year but last few years has been less due to covid. (My A4 went back with 23k on clock after 3 years).  It's mostly short trips and the 9 mile trip to the office a couple of days a week. It does get longer runs at the weekend and the occasional 200 mile run up north. I will keep the car for 4 years at least and will seriously consider paying the balloon so keen to keep it in as best condition I can.

I'm leaning towards just getting it done annually. Seems better to pay less each year than one big lump sum every two years.  Can the service interval be changed in the car once it's been set?
