Fuel pump Relay clicking Roomster 1.4 16v Petrol

HI All, I have a weird issue , the fuelpump relay in my 1.4 16v petrol roomster 2010 started clicking when ignition is turned on and the car will no longer start, I have checked all fuses tried a diferent relay, this stopped it but the dash lit up like a xmas tree even when turned off and key removed.  I have cleaned all the earth grounds around the battery, checked the fuses in the pod next to the battery and all other fuses all good and no change,

I am not sure if VW vadis will connect  to try a diagnostic but will attempt at weekend, any ideas much appreciated.
