Hi guys I am in the process of getting a superb sportline 2018 and was wondering does the boot open and close automatically on the key comand?

Depends on if its keyless entry. You will be able to open the boot with a hold of the middle button. Closing can be done when standing near the rear bumper and holding the same button.

Why would ever need close by remote?

 

I’ve seen folk on here ask why but I can’t think of why, if you open it then you’re going to put something in or take out and as you’re there just press the button.

 

I tried wording this differently so I don’t sound start but honestly I’m intrigued haha

Hands full of shopping, carried into the house and can’t be bothered to go outside again 🤣

My car has the "virtual pedal", which allows me to use my foot (a short kick motion under the rear bumper to open and close the boot lid). It is specified as -

Virtual pedal-Opening/Closing of 5th doors(only in combination with el. trunklid and Kessy)

 

My wife loves it for the same reason you want it. Check if you have the same?
