1.2 tsi revs rising

Featured Replies

evening

ive noticed a problem with our 2011 fabia recently where the revs are creeping up at tickover or staying at a few thousand rpm when you pull up at a junction. i would have thought a sticky throttle cable but there obviously isn't one! is this likely to be a pedal problem or throttle body end? no error codes

Try pulling the pedal up by hooking your toe under it when it happens.

tried that no difference

i suspect its either the potentiometer on the pedal of the drive by wire actuator at throttle body end

I agree, it's probably the throttle body.

Check the brake servo vacuum pipe for splits, drawing air in.

Apparently it's common enough for the crankcase vent valve to break where it enters the intake manifold. Our one behaves exactly as you describe and that valve is broken on it. The local dealer will have one for me on Monday. P/N is 030 103 175 B

It's on the back of the manifold, towards the right hand side. If the weather improves a bit I'll try and grab a photo for you.
