Well to add to my being unlucky it seems my local dealership isn’t helping with that - car dropped off in an unusable state (due to the leaking pump) on the 10th of June but isn’t scheduled to be repaired until the 12th of July! Has anyone else had a better experience of getting a breakdown scenario issue sorted or is it just my local dealer that is a shower of the brown stuff?!

That seems an awfully long wait. Did they tell you that before you dropped it off?

As for my car it only visited the dealer once & has been with a local indie VAG specialist ever since. Same with my previous Mk2 Superb & the Audi A6 before that. I only use main dealers when the cars are recalled or, still in warranty which, for us, ain't long because I normally buy them at 2-3 years old. Our 22 plate Hyundai will be with the dealer for a while longer due to it's 5 year warranty & then I'll be looking for an EV specialist to compare.

They didn’t quote me a date until last week, only said they would “look at it when we can”.

Im finally picking up a courtesy car from them today (after two weeks without) so at least I won’t be stranded while they carry on taking their time.

i just can’t believe it’s acceptable to not prioritise fixing broken down vehicles, I work in production maintenance and when something breaks we get it fixed asap regardless of what other planned stuff we have to do! It’s not like a minor annoyance I can live with until they’re free, if I carried on driving it there a risk it could completely fail and leave me stranded or worse

I bet the courtesy car isn't a 280!

Nope! 😭 it’s new though and seems nippy enough so fine for getting me and the kids around for the next 3 weeks

We’ll update to this, had an unexpected call to say the car was repaired so I have it back now.

guessing the combination of the Škoda uk complaint and the fact I had a courtesy car from them (after two weeks!) gave them incentive to get it done quicker.

if nothing else goes wrong before September I think this will be the last warranty year and last visit to a Škoda dealer, back to my trusted independent and take my chances that nothing else major messes the bed….
