Current version (2022) Superb 'onboard' nav vs TomTom?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

I am pondering buying a new Superb L&K, with it's native navi which can be shown on the cockpit as well. However, I am a user of TomTom navigation (via Apple Carplay) in my current 2017 Superb and though I am certainly no fan of all TT features especially on the 'ergonomics' side, I DO think their routing + traffic notification + traffic jam avoidance is the best I've been able to find (in the Benelux area at least). So I am wondering if anyone can say something about the source of the traffic info used by/transmitted to the native navi? Is that 'just' TMC (since especially in the Netherlands that is next to useless)? How do you experience the traffic routing in case of traffic jams (I hate how some navis will send you off an offramp, and then straight onto the onramp again)? Can you get the navigation view of Carplay shown on the cockpit view if I find that the native navi doesn't suit me? How do you experience the quality of the map updates from Skoda?

I have done a search on the forum to find answers to this, but I find things that are sort of close to answering, but don't quite seem to really provide an answer to my specific focus :)

Thanks in advance!
