Karoq 2022 Brochure

Featured Replies

My dealer has just sent me a brochure for the facelifted Karoq, so I've attached an upload for anyone interested.

Karoq 2022.pdf

Many thanks,

I'm assuming they sent you the PDF rather than a paper copy (which seem to have been discontinued 😞 )

They must have been given an early copy as it's not on the Skoda UK website yet!

When I opened the file in Adobe Acrobat DC, I was told there were errors in it, and I found text missing on pages 5, 20, 21, 22 and 25. When I opened it with PDF Architect 6 instead, the missing text was there, as well as a page index running along the bottom of every page. So other readers may have to choose their PDF reader carefully to see the complete brochure.

I did have errors myself when I opened it.  I think it's probably not the "final" version, but I got the best viewing experience on my iPad.

Absolutely fine on my computer (Windows 10 standard pdf reader)

It seems they've abandoned several desirable features that were previously offered or being predicted.  Some mentioned already like...

##     the 1.0 mild hybrid DSG option that has been appearing in other Skoda Models

##     Area View 360* vision

Either I couldn't see or they just weren't making a song and dance about...

##    DCC Adaptive Dampers

##    Blind Spot Detection

##    Parking package doesn't seem to include automatic parking facility where the car parks itself

I still don't like the new grill with chrome surrounf but looks quite good with blackened surround in the Sportline.  All in all a disappointing makeover and hardly anything to tempt those like me, with earlier Karoq models.

I recently ordered a Kodiaq to replace my Karoq and couldn’t get blind spot detection either which is annoying as I have it on the Karoq. Seen elsewhere that this appears to have been removed along with other features as a result of the chop shortage as the dealer couldn’t understand why he couldn’t add it or why it wasn’t in the travel assist add on as normal.

The most annoying thing about the Karoq for an edition owner is it’s really expensive to get back stuff like electrically adjustable seat that doesn’t exist in any trim now and is an add on. This is why I went Kodiaq as it worked out cheaper to just pick a sportline model with the stuff I wanted in already than to spec up a Karoq…frustrating…

I agree.

The Skoda UK August brochure included Park Assist, Trailer Assist, Area View, Emergency Assist and the Canton sound system as options, and the Czech press release for the facelifted model stated these would still be available. However they are not shown in the Skoda UK brochure.

The press release also said predictive cruise control would be offered, but we have adaptive cruise control with collision prediction instead.

The packaging of the options also means you have to buy heated rear seats if you want the heated windscreen, but does include DCC as part of the Performance Pack on pages 19 and 26. Interestingly the illustration on page 22 clearly shows the blind spot detection lights, although they are not mentioned. Has this feature been overlooked, or is the picture of a EU only car?

I also see they are still claiming it has web radio, which is only true if you stump up for an additional data plan to receive the signals!

Chris

PS: From comparing other Skoda EU websites, it looks very much as if these missing options are due to chip supply problems rather than Skoda UK deliberately restricting our choices!

Yes, chip shortages does explain why Skoda have had to cut down on tech items and hadn't thought of that.

I wonder if the collison avoidance included with ACC is anything more than what ACC did on the older models where the car will slow down when you get behind another vehicle at a certain (adjustable) distance and even bring your car to a halt if the one in front suddenly brakes to a standstill.  However, ACC is rather slow locking on to a vehicle that suddenly cuts in in front of you from another lane - so maybe they've improved that aspect.  I'm not sure preditive cruise control is worth the bother anyway, from what people have reported.

Brochure and price list is now available on the Skoda UK web site.  It downloaded OK and I can read all pages without problem (although I had had problems with some pages not reading correctly,or at all, with the link kindly forwarded above by RCC49).

As a general comment, it appears to me the facelifted Karoq is not as price-competitive as it once was.  Perhaps that is a part consequence of inflation?
