I don't know if they are stuck on or clipped.

They are stuck on. Removing them can sometimes reveal bubbling/peeling paint.

If the paint is not bubbling/peeling it will more than likely be a different shade nowadays to the rest of the doors as it'll be unfaded where the strips have been for 20years.

Definitely, I've seen cars with 'L' plates on that have changed shades in a handful months never mind 20 years. :D

Misspelling

You may end up damaging the old ones getting them off.

When I had a set of door mouldings smoothed, painted and carbon dipped i had to start off with new mouldings as the old ones were ruined on removal.

Yeah I was thinking that and I can't find anywhere to get those trims from do might have to swerve this one lol.

What about using some of that 'Back to Black' stuff for trim? I don't know if that'd work, but it might be worth the gamble.

That stuffs only any good for detailing mate not for faded plastic I've tried it before.

Have you tried Autoglym Bumper & Trim Gel, expensive in the shops but it can give good results - but not perform miracles - apply with an inch and a quarter  (30mm for younger viewers) cube of (clean) bath sponge (cut precisely and it won't be noticed missing).  Leave to soak, Bumper & Trim Gel that is, and wipe off (buff up if you must) excess.

Nice smell now too. - BUMPER & TRIM GEL -https://www.autoglym.com/bumper-and-trim-gel

Or there are these ones you get with a sponge and apply adverts on YouTube, I've never tried them but you used to get similar stuff decades back and they were alright, forget the names.

What spec is your Fabia, Stewart? My Classic never had the door strips.

Aye, I've seen a couple of Classics with the bump strip so I don't know if it was an option from the dealers as it doesn't show up on my 05/06 brochure.

Yeah we used to fit them on PDI for some classic customers. The kit of 4 x rubbing strips used to be dirt cheap back in the day.

Quite a few fitted too high or too low though, used to make my teeth itch looking at them.
