Miscellaneous Squeak - why!

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I've been dealing with this squeak for the last few months. Took it into the dealer initially, and they said they couldn't find it. "Try coming back when it gets worse" - which feels like a bit of a crock of, if you ask me.

I think the noise is coming from the rear of the car, usually seems to happen in reverse when leaving my driveway.

The only thing I noticed around the brakes is that the rim of the brake disc is significantly more 'rusty' on one side than the other - would this have any impact though?

Anyone have any good ideas for diagnosing the issue more accurately, or have dealt with something similar?

Thanks in advance, and apologies for the very vague description.

It's a 2018 VRS - so the 2L petrol Wagon (estate), if that makes any difference?

What there is in the post to go on, probably indicates pad to disc contact. a strip down and reassembly of rear brakes inspecting parts, pistons, calipers is all I could recommend.
