Blindspot detection and lane assist

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am picking up a 71 plate Superb Sportline Plus next week, the listing on Autotrader is not very clear as to what is included as ever :) The car has blindspot detection but does not mention lane assist, can you have one without the other?

Also, do I have to pay to use Apple car play? Thanks in advance! I am looking forward to joining the Skoda family :) And one last question, there is a button on the steering wheel with an icon of a car with a line on each side/top/bottom, is this something to do with drive assist?

Edited.

Blind spot detection should be standard on yours, just double checked the brochure :)

Thanks Patent, typically the pics do not cover that angle, I will ask the dealer for more info, do you know if lane assist and traffic jam assist can be added after?

Pic are here, sorry if these type of links are not allowed mods, not trying to sell anything :)

Apologies I edited my post above!

Here's the February 2021 Brochure, it should cover the standard kit on yours if you flick to the specifications at the back :)

Yes, your car does have Lane assist, pictured on the pictures of the dash, on top to the right, there is a road symbol, as well as on the pictures of the front, you can see the A5 camera, triangle like shape on top of the windscreen, above the rearview mirror, and even if it did not have Lane assist, it can be coded, as well as traffic sign recognition, the button on the steering wheel you ask about is the shortcut to a menu to enable or disable assists, which the car has

Traffic sign recognition cannot be coded on newer 2Q0 cameras after facelift.

lane assist can be added as long as the A5 camera is there though.

There's a time limit on editing your own posts.

@Gizmo could you edit the autotrader links out on the thread? They contain the OP's postcode

Hi All,

So I got the car and it seems I have everything other than any form of lane assist, can this be coded in and if so how would I go about it? Pics below to help :)

Yup thats the one.

So you will have 1 of multiple of these

- lane assist

- traffic sign recognition

- high beam assist

if you have any of these, lane assist can be added - im assuming your car is a 2019 onward model.

The car is a 21 plate Sportline Plus IV, it does not have any of the below 😞

- lane assist

- traffic sign recognition

- high beam assist

  1. Actually I do have high beam assist, how do I go about adding lane assist or even traffic sign recognition. Is there someone on the forum I can pay or any third party I can use?

Probably a good idea to add your general location in the world to see if there are members in the area who could ad the coding?

Good point :) I am near St Ives, Cambs.

I'm not so sure if you can have lane assist coded any more. Mine did have it, and the the garage updated the software and the ability to recode (I'm told) was removed.

In truth it wasn't great without the relevant sensor enabled steering wheel - without it you have to move the steering wheel even if the assist has you perfectly in the lane (which on the motorway it would).

I'm sure there will be more details elsewhere in briskoda.

You always have to wiggle the wheel, no matter what sensor, wheel or camera you have, it is not an autopilot, rather an assist!

Spoiler

You can fool it with a 0,5L bottle of water stuck in the steering wheel, but do it at your own risk!

That is not a million miles away, what can be added after market?

You can have active lane assist added and there is a possibility I can do traffic jam assistant too. Sign recognition is not possible though.
