About to order Enyaq - what packages to skip?

Featured Replies

Hello all - long time lurcher, first post...

My finger is hovering about the order button ... 😃

Specs:

Enyaq 80x 82 kWh 265 HP  4x4

Retractable Tow bar

Center airbag
Sound system CANTON
Comfort seat Plus
Convenience Plus
Drive Sport Plus
Tan leather interior
Family Plus
Powerpass 0 kr
Prepared forCare Connect + Infotainment Online 3years

The price is .... a bit high 😬

My must haves are really ACC and the LED-Matrix headlights. I guess I want the 4x4 for living in countryside and for higher allowed towing weight.

Skipping the panoramic sunroof (have on current Octavia) and the HUD (nice but hardly essential)

I could skip the Drive sport/DCC chassis, possibly lose the Canton speakers as well, reduce to family basic (blinds in back seat for the kiddo) , comfort seat basic, convenience basic (is that including the motorized tailgate?) and move back to the bright alcantara interior (Lodge?) but I feel the cost savings will be small

Am I posting in the wrong channel - should it be in the 'About to buy a Skoda'- channel?

Here in the UK the waiting list is rumoured to be 15 months with allegedly priority being given to lower spec cars ( less chips).  On that basis I doubt you will ever see your car....!!

The situation is more complex than I initially revealed. I managed to sign a contract for an Octavia iV which is ”in store”, (=prompt delivery) but since I drive a few 250 km stretches per month I wanted to go full electric and cancel the Octavia. However, the price tag diff is 75% higher for the Enyaq, which may buy me loads of petrol…

OTOH - I did also consider going for a barebone 60, barely more costly than the Octavia iV

Oh, and I forgot - Arctic White 😉😎

Re 15 months delivery time in UK, can that possibly be related to right hand steer?  My dealer says official delay for Sweden is 6 months, but also nobody knows for sure so another 3 months could be closer to the truth

Hej! 😁

When I ordered, the only addition in Convenience Plus over Basic was the electric tailgate. So I skipped that - the electric ones are slow and annoying anyway (at least that’s what I tell myself…) 😉

Enyaq production had to be stopped due to important parts not being available due to Ukraine Russia war.  Don’t know if they have restarted it yet.

There was talk of orders not being taken for a while, but maybe can still order in Sweden.

There is a limit on how many batteries can be made, the VW Group are looking to build more battery factories with huge one at Sagunto (north of Valencia) but unlikely they will be able to build electric cars in big volumes until 2024 or 2025

Hello, Sweden....

You have made some good choices, I see.

I myself would not have leather seats. i would go for lodge.

For about one year ago I configured my Enyaq, and explained a little why I made the choices.

It is the second link...

After a while I change the whole thing to Sportline, with some comments on the choices

I have ordered it in July 2020, and it will bee delayed....

Update:

Now looking at a Sportline 80X- Firmer ride (is this needed? I tried a sportline on a nice curvy road and was rather impressed, but didn’t try standard suspension on same road. )

Fancier seats, but black as a coalmine inside, so adding the sunroof, skipping the DCC, reducing to family basic (no tray tables), letting go of the Canton, audio reducing to comfort seat basic and adding the crystal grille

All this in order to go below 700kSEK which is a proposed upcoming limit to the government incentive.

DCC and standard 80x as an alternative?

@Espen - you suggested Lodge interior over EcoSuite, but yourself went with sportline?

I guess it comes down to -

Loft without sunroof but with DCC

vs

Sportline with sunroof but  without DCC

I ended up getting the sportline with sunroof and crystal grille.
I shall post delivery estimate when I get it.

Yes I did. That is because I think Sportline has better looks out side. The black details in the front and ordinary car colour all the way down at det doors. No black plastic at tet bottom of the doors or bottom rear.

This is the first time I go for a better look outside the car, rather than inside. The sportline inside looks rather dull. It is good seats, however, with everything black it is kind of booring.

In Norway the Sportline has more options in the bottom price. if I should build an ordinary iV80x up to a Sportline it would be more expencive. If I should do that I would have a black car to hide the black plastic, and then I would go for the Lodge interior. Lodge is wonderful. I dont like leather seats. I had that on my Superb L&K`s. It is cold at wintertime and warm at summertime. I did have one Superb with ventilated seats, it was ok. But not more than ok...

Looks better than the alternative at least. I'm not really convinced it is worth the money.

I haven't even got a preliminary date yet, other than that it should surely be delivered by December 2023...

I also wanted to avoid the black lower door, but on the other hand all trim and the entire interior is black - really dull.

I guess the main reason for going with the sportline was the seats, which arguably have better side support, while lumbar support is as crappy as in any other VAG vehicle I'm afraid. In the current Octavia III I need an auxiliary lumbar support not to go mad.

So, it seems we have basically ordered the same config - let's see who gets it first :)

😂 Yeah.... However, I did order mine in the beginning of july 2021....

I think that the lumbar support is quite nice with the electric seats. I have had 4 Superbs and have a Kodiaq now. All with electric seats. I think the seats are good. I drive a little over 60.000 km a year.

But, I don´t have any problems with my back in the first place...

🤷‍♂️ I hear EVs are quite popular in Norway, and have been for quite a while so the national quota may be spent faster, hence longer wait. Higher demand quite simply.

I have an Octavia with electric seats and lumbar support, but I feel like I'm sitting in a hammock... OTOH, I am fairly tall and have a disproportionately tall upper body (short legs) and am recovering from a herniated disk from last year.

Word from the dealer that the cars he ordered October/November are now up for production this summer. Extrapolating this to my order date early may could put me up for delivery before end of 2022.

I did not order the ŠKODA Sound System with 10 speakers and subwoofer. I had Canton in my Superb and was super happy with it. I have Canton in my Kodiaq now and am not happy. In Ålesund there is something called Bass Brothers. https://www.facebook.com/bassbrothersas I will have such a facility. it will be fitted tomorrow. It costs a little more than SSS NOK 10.000 and NOK 1.500 to get someone to install it it. This can be removed again and mounted on another Enyaq later.  11.500,- kr

I have also bought a dashcam. https://fitcamx.com/products/fitcamx-dash-cam-for-vw-volkswagen-skoda-enyaq?_pos=1&_sid=dff8bbde0&_ss=r&variant=41587560415404 I ordered of course a black cam. This will also be installed tomorrow,

Very nice! A good list of equipment which should keep you comfortable.

Not sure that I am too keen on those wheels but that is a matter of taste.
