Dashcam Hardwire Advice

Featured Replies

Hello. Did you find a permanent live for parking mode? I have same cam for my Skoda octavia vrs 4x4 2019. I know this post is from 2022 but hopefully you can still help 😀. Many thanks Tom

@tomhay1989Assuming your Octavia 2019 doesn't have any major revisions to the fusebox, the fuse position for the 12 volt power sockets (Number 40 in the fuse box behind the glove box in my version of the Octavia) should always be live. Be warned it might constantly result in an error that is picked up by diagnostic readers although nothing appears on the dash and it doesn't affect normal day to day driving assuming you are using a hardwire kit with voltage protection.

Thank you for this. This helps massively. Yes 2019. I have noticed that the 12v in the centre is always live, but obviously, I don't want to run cam off that 24/7 as it won't cut off it will just keep running and run battery down. I do have the viofo kit with the the cut off box when battery gets low. Appreciate your reply pal
