Roof bars Mk 3 to Mk 4 fit?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anybody know if Mk 3 roof bars fit on the new Mk4 hatchback?

Dealership told me no when I was ordering my bars for mk4 hatch as the mk3 versions were considerably cheaper

Thule website would suggest the bars themselves, yes, but the feet no.

Obviously original ones do not fit :) . Because MK4 hase new shape and style of the "rails" on the roof. Thats why you need to buy new ones for MK4. If you have some Thule or similar, you can only buy the attachment part. But the Original one has really great attachment system to car - only lever with safety lock, no tools/screwdriver needed.

Hi,

Has anyone fitted an older Thule none evo setup to the car?

I.e. the old 753 footpack? Is it compatible with the new 7106 evo fitting kit?

Would be nice to use my old setup from a previous car with closed rails instead of being forced to upgrade to evo.

The Evo is so expensive it would be cheaper to get a cheap set of bars from ebay and pray the T track is big enough for my 591 cycle carriers
