I'm aware there are a few threads already established for remaping/tuning box's on here but I see they are a number of years old and thus the information may have changed.

 

I have a Skoda Octavia Mk3 hatch with the 184hp TDI engine, 76k miles on the clock. I'm thinking of getting it remapped/tuning box.

 

What do people recommend? remap or tuning box and why.

Who do people recommend? I've heard several names such as DTUK, Shark performance, Raceline OME+, APR, etc. etc. who's best?

There are plenty of options but I would always go with a remap. Not a fan of the tuning boxes personally.

I have had Shark Performance (now Racingline) maps and couldnt fault it. I have also had 5 or 6 cars mapped by Superchips Bluefin and never had any issue. My current car (same as yours) is mapped by Superchips and the car drives spot on. Plus I can remove the map and go back to standard easily when I sell the car.

The threads in the Performance section covering  remaps / tuning boxes & Euro 5 TDI's will be as relevant now as when people posted as nothing new has come into being over the past few years.

Even ones about Euro 6 TDI's are relevant.
