Stop start button

Featured Replies

Well my stop start button was playing up and as my Karoq was going in for a service I asked them to have a look at it, they came back with the button needs changing! At a cost of £196 well I priced the part and at £ 58 with postage  I ordered one.
well today I changed it and I thought it was really simple.

i don’t know how they can justify £138 for about 20 minutes work

That would have been them quoting on 1 hours labour & 20% VAT.

There would have been the 'free' health check and wash and vacuum...

Still expensive don’t you think

A rip off if from the keys collected at the service desk and the job done and the keys back with the reception / service desk is 30 minutes.

But then have other trades people that have a 1 hour minimum charge & £100 plus an hour is not unusual.

Anything over £5 for the switch would be a rip off to me let alone the labour.

😂 True

Has the switch any identification marks?  It is probably a standard switch. £58 seems grossly excessive. If the switch is marked I can look into a possible source.

Thanks but I have already bought it and it’s now fitted

Here is the part number if anyone interested in finding an alternative

Less than a tenner delivered half way around the world on AliExpress.

That used to be only a week with some stuff but now it can be make a guess and wait and see when it might arrive which is OK as long as you are not desperate for a part.

Same as it can be now ordering from the EU for UK delivery though.
