Mk2 VRS (CAVE) mystery electrical connector

Featured Replies

I'm just wrapping up replacing the coolant pump/supercharger clutch on my 2012 VRS, and have come across this 4-pin connector that seems to have broken off from somewhere.

It branches off from the part of the loom that has s connector going to the brake fluid reservoir… Does anyone know where this is from/is supposed to go, if anywhere?

It's a 2x2 connector as opposed to the 1x4 ones used on the intake piping.

 😬

Plugs in underneath the brake reservoir / master cylinder (under the aluminium bit)  it's the brake light switch plug

Assume it may be for the clutch master cylinder and would give the position of the clutch on a manual.

Thanks both. It's the brake light switch as @UrbanPanzer mentioned; Managed to fasten it securely with cable ties for now, pending a replacement switch.
