Got myself a Furby!

Featured Replies

no not the furry type my nephew tries to eat, but a vRS :)

I ended up part exchanging my Clio for it and all I can say is 'WOW'! The handling is great, not too taught and not too soft, the brakes take a bit of getting used to but are fairly strong, the performance when overtaking is stunning, and the build quality couldn't be better :) This might sound strange but out of all the cars I was able to buy (Golf, Focus, A3, 3 series, C class), I opted for the lil Fabia due to the overall package it offered and great value for money.

I purchased the car from Alex Lowrie in Liverpool and apart from the stupid valeters who left swirls all over the car and black marks on the seats (now sorted, apart from minor swirls) their service is top notch. They even gave me a set of radio keys once I kicked up a fuss about them having to supply me with them due to EU law and them denying they were able to order them! Great bunch of guys, not had to deal with their after-sales service yet but I'm hoping it's just as good!

/shameless plug

Now for the car, you might remember I posted up the details about a vRS demonstrator. It was registered in Dec '05 and had covered 7k miles. But what sold it for me was that it was available straight away and had xenons, heated seats, ESP, black magic, cruise control and a changer fitted, and they let me have it for a fair price. I've already removed the rear 'FABIA' & 'VRS' badges, and the side strips from the doors and the car looks so much better. I installed my Alpine 9835 headunit and it's removed the tinny sound from the speakers. Also used a clay bar and Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine to hide the remaining swilrs on the paint and it worked a treat. Will post up some pics once I've detailed the car better over the next few days.

Am hoping that you guys can steer me in the right direction when it finally comes to a remap etc.

Welcome to the slope! I swapped my Clio for a vRS and still think the car is amazing, having owned it since last January. I also recently used a clay bar and ultra deep shine and it's brought it up really nice. Would like to see some pics of the side strips removed as I can't make my mind up.

Excellent choice of car. I think I saw this on the forecourt of the Alex Laurie. Excellent dealership and top after sales.

Like the prevoius post, I too part exchanged my Clio for the Vrs, never looked back in 2 1/2 years!

You sound really pleased with your new car! What EU law were you referring to?
