Hybrid issues

Featured Replies

Has anyone else seen this? When I start a journey from cold, select hybrid mode - when the ice kicks in, electric mode is disabled for a period of time. When I take my foot off the accelerator the ice could be revving from 500 - 1500 rpm. It appears to be temperature related. The colder it is the longer the condition lasts, at about 14c it only last about a couple of miles and all is normal. Regenerative braking still working with the engine revving. Dealer says nothing wrong, I’m not convinced.

Welcome.

Hopefully other hybrid drivers can help, but when the engine is fired up it has a GPF and might well need to get it heated up just the same as if a car has just an ICE

An engine just starting for a few minutes and then closing down is not a good thing.

This will be why the engines have a fixed Oil & Filter regime.

My Superb is the same although the engine does warm up very quickly. In cold weather I never select hybrid mode until I'm on the open road.

Just a feature. It heats up the engine if its started. Pointless to start it for just few seconds.
