Boot Light/Removable torch not working

Featured Replies

Hello

My 2020 skoda superb has developed a small fault recently. When i open the boot the 2 boot lights come on fine but the removable torch which doubles as a 3rd boot light now does not come on when the boot is opened. I recently got a towbar fitted at a skoda dealer so i though maybe there was a wire issue. So i checked with the multi metre at the 3 pin connectors that the torch clips into and when the boot is closed it is almost no voltage and when its open i get 12v so i am assuming the wiring is ok.

I now suspect it may be the light may be at fault. The torch part of it still works but its the boot light side of it that just does not come on. Should the boot light come on when it gets 12v. I notice there is 3 pin connectors, i am guessing 1 is positive, 1 negative but unsure of the 3rd middle one. Any ideas?

Thanks

That’s annoying and yep, it sounds like it is.
If I take mine out of the holder it literally falls apart in my hand and I’m boogered if I’m gonna pay £50 for a replacement! 😂 In realty, is a useless torch too. I’d just get some brighter LED units and forget the about the torch.
