Power Steering Issue

Featured Replies

@ScottB832I don't know if you got to the end of the steering issues? I sorted mine out today! After much umming and urring I ordered a rack, ripped the old one out on my driveway and found this. Fitted new one put some spacers in the dog bone mount to give it clearance and tested it. I've never felt fabia power steering but it's nicer than my 22 plate Vito so I'm over the moon.

I bought the new one as a service exchange for £150 on eBay! 3 years and 60k mile warranty.

Hope this helps you out mate, if you haven't already sorted the steering in your car 😉

Is that damage from a too-long dogbone rear bolt? Is that the bottom side? Can't quite work out orientation.

Yeah it was the dog bone mount, it's the underside

Bolt should be 61mm long, bet someone put a 65mm gearbox to block bolt in by mistake while doing a clutch change.

Hacksaw?

I think you are right...

I fitted some spacers and it's nicely out of the way of the rack now! But I wouldn't be surprised if that 4mm was right since it was 3 or 4mm on the spacers I put in
