I just wanted to let off some steam. My wife had a 2012 Octavia L&K and she loved it. Trouble was thing started to get expensive. Saw a great deal fora Scout 1.84 Estate at DM Keith in Huddersfield and took the plunge. Got terrible trade in but there you go. This Scout is nothing like an L&K. Dreadful Infotainment system and the toys buried deep in the menus (Tyre Monitoring System anyone?). Anyway, why we are so frustrated is the TERRIBLE AWFUL HORRID SatNav system. Doesn't remember anything. When you enter your destination it sometimes freezes. All your previous settings ignored. Go into MEDIA and SatNav turns off. If I had a hammer!!!!!. OK, I am calm now.

I mean 184 not 1.84. Sorry.

I would have thought that you would have SMART LINK already available on that year of Octavia Scout? it might be more user friendly connecting a Smartphone to it and using either APPLE CarPlay or Android Auto ( I would add I don't have Smartlink enabled on my octavia but alot of others prefer it to the infotainment) 

 

Octavia SATNAV  has its "quirks" for sure. You can enter a postcode but its a bit buried, I don't mind mine to be honest but do understand you having to let off steam!

 

I use the voice activation to enter address's and it works ok most of the time.
