Brake wear sensors

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone know if the Superb in SE L Exec trim includes brake pad wear sensors?

Thanks,

Sorry, have now seen it said these cars do have them?

Anyone know roughly how much wear they are down to when the warning comes up?  i.e. so I can gauge how quickly to get it booked in for as assuming it doesn't mean stop driving immediately?  (FYI mainly motorway use)

Hi,

According to maintenance manual, chapter 5.1, p124-125 (to be downloaded from cardiagn.com), the wear limit is 7mm thickness (incl. backing plate) for front pads and 7.6mm for rear pads. I assume the warning lights on roughly at the same time.

Note: The backing plate is approximately 3mm thick (may be a bit less). Thus, once the warning is ON you should still have some thousands miles left to have your pads changed. ;)
