Fabia SE L TSi 110 Air Con

Featured Replies

The Air Con on our Fabia has stopped working. I've had it re-gassed but still not working.

I've been told that it requires a Sensor G280 by my local garage, but will require a Skoda dealer to be re-configured.

Is this a common fault, and would the advice be correct ?

Solenoid valve N280 maybe?, not sensor G280 as there's no such thing to the best of my knowledge. Check wiring to it as a first step. The only wires that go to the compressor.

No configuring required as far as I know, but it does require the refrigerant to be extracted before it can be changed.

Could you mean "A/C Humidity Sensor (G260)"

and not

Sensor for Seat Rear Height Adj. Pass. Seat (G280)

or as mentioned N280

Thank you for quick response, I was definitely told part G280 at cost of £130.

Gonna take a wild stab in the dark that your car doesn't have electric height adjustable rear seats, therefore they've made a mistake. Check with them again whether they meant to say G260, or N280.

Will do. Thank you.

I'm not sure that your car will have a G260 sensor either from a quick glance at parts info.

N280 search term takes you to compressor, and there is a regulator valve that costs around £111.64.

Hard to say exactly as need VIN search to narrow things down.

EDIT: Attached some information about the part in question, for VW and USA.  The SANDEN compressor was used on some Fabia's, so could be what yours has, otherwise attached information should be disregarded.

Extra information

They cost from €10, they are all pattern parts in any case as the compressor manufacturers only sell complete compressors, usually they simply require cleaning and testing before refitting but at €10 its worth havin a new one.

Try and do a deal with someone to recover your refrigerant gas and then sell it back to you once you have changed the valve.
