Mk3 1.5 TSI service problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just had my Octy back from a service and it's making a new turbo flutter type noise, audible in the car. I opened the bonnet and found a loose pipe.

4 weeks till Skoda Aylesbury can fit me in to look at it, just checking if this could cause the noise, and if it's easy to refit.

I can't immediately see where it's supposed to go.

Any help gratefull received.

Thanks

I think I would be taking it straight back to whomever did the service.

I've had a pipe left off to turbo once after a service, the exit was straight onto a 60mph road, almost had a lorry join me in my back seat.  Luckily for me, I don't just pull out and make a gap, I make sure it's a decent gap.

Take off the top engine cover.  Take a picture beforehand, and also look to see if it's the picture below

Ask them why they didn't need months notice to **** your car up!

Tell them that you appreciate that they are too busy to put right their **** ups so they will need to authorise an equivalent hire car for you for the period.

Cheers for the diagrams, I've been out, removed the cover and bingo, it's the green highlighted pipe.

Clipped the pipe back on and tested it, all sorted.

Thanks for the help 👍

You should do as @J.R.said and lay into them, sure you fixed it... But shouldn't have had to.

Do hope you took another picture of the pipe with the top cover removed.

To be fair we dont know that the garage who cant look at it were actually the ones that did the service.

I know, I did previously mention about the people that did the service need a slap.

If it was the main agent 🤐

Yes both were Aylesbury (Bristol Street) Skoda.

I didn't take a photo with the cover off unfortunately, but I think the original photo shows all they need to know.

I'll be having words tomorrow.

Thanks

Glad you got that sorted. Finding a trusted place to take your car these days seems to be increasingly hard work. We have a local place that I used for some heavier stuff and they didn't do a great job. Perfect for MOTs though.
