Superb 2013 Facelift afs error

Featured Replies

Guys looking for some help here

AFS error came up initially diagnosed as issue with sensor on rear axel as the connecting rod had snapped.

replaced that and issue still not resolved.

When scanned shows error C108131 left headlamp power output stage no signal.

any ideas?

Thanx in advance

Corrosion on connectors for the module under the headlight due to water ingress would be my guess 😞

If you're lucky, you can clean it up and possibly replace the module.

Thank you

have you got a part number for that module?

At a guess, 7L6 941 329 B but please check before ordering anything...

You can see it on the underside of this headlight:

This is my headlight which is different to the one linked

would it still be the same issue?

Looks like the modules are still in the same place so it's plausible: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115390854396

Part number has changed and now seems to be 8U0 941 329.

Given you have extra lights fitted, I'd also be checking the wiring to the headlight to make sure it's not been messed with or damaged...

So i have now replaced the suggested part however i have had no joy as error hasnt gone away.
Garage swapped over each balast one at a time and the error didnt change.
the only thing that changed was when they swapped over the actual headlight unit to the other side the error changed sides.
im assuming that means i require a full replacement headlight unit however Hella have stopped manufacturing the passenger side headlight.
anyone got any suggestions

Just checking, headlights work as in light up both sides?

Did you replace the ballast part only?

Yes all lights work

replaced the part as suggested above but that didnt help

Ballast is just a part to light up the bulb with nice high Voltage, not sure why garage would swap those.

So you brought the part @langers2k suggested, the "brain" as it were that decides where to place the beam.

Did you get any pictures off old part/new part fitted?

Is the fault code identical still after?
