Skoda octavia mk3

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

i have been recently looking at some skoda octavia mk3’s and out of the 2.0l engines (petrol and diesel), which one do you believe is the best in terms of reliability? (Vrs engines included)

thank you,

Bartek

Welcome.

How many miles have the ones you are looking at done,

and how many miles a year will you be doing?

Reliability should be much the same for a couple of hundred thousand miles with the correct servicing.

Servicing costs will be pretty similar and it is fuel costs that will be different.

What are you looking at Manuals or DSG,s?

Generally speaking i do about 10,000 miles in my current car yearly and i am looking for a car with 40,000 miles or less. Generally speaking i am really stuck up on the dsg’s as they sit very well with me so i would massively prefer a dsg.

You will have to be sure that the Servicing has been done as required and that will include the DSG servicing if at 40,000 miles.

Maybe doing 10,000 miles a year you would best stick with a TSI.

Have fun trying to see what you like.
