Yeti - stops suddenly and then can start again 15 minutes later.

Featured Replies

This is an automatic diesel - older model.

Any ideas anyone?  Garage keeps messing around!!

Best that you give some more clues.

So how many miles has it done and how long have you had it?

?

Has it just started doing this and how soon after you start it and have driven is it before it just stops or cuts out, and is this at any speed?

?

In what way are they messing about, have they no idea what is wrong or have they done some checks?

EDIT.

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/495643-car-wouldnt-move    Is it still this Yeti?

See if the rev counter doesn't move when turning the engine on starter motor at a time before those 15 mins post-cutout, and does move at times which do lead to successful restart.

Thanks guys - it's a different car.  Belongs to a friend.  The mechanic is a 'round the corner' sort of mechanic!  Would a proper Skoda service centre diagnostic machine pick this up?  Thanks.

Why not try the experiment I suggested, no cost in that?

I'll explain why I've suggested it once you tell me what happens, or doesn't.
