2013 Octavia mk3 2.0 TDi Bank1 Sensor1

Featured Replies

Hi Guy's and Gal's,

I have a bank1 sensor1 open circuit. That is what the code reader is telling me.

I guess the is a possability that there could be a wiring issue. How can i check that?

There are many o2 lambda sensors at all sorts of prices from £35 to £175 can anyone tell me which one (part number if poss) that i need to buy?

Is it easy to get at and within the capabilities of your average diy'er?

I understand that there is a special socket with a slit which i can buy or hire.

Thanks in advance.

Its not easy to get out. I took the turbo heat shield off & used a 3/8 drive long 17mm socket with a long section cut out the whole length of it to get over the solid metal part of the wiring connector...  its the 1 with the 2 pin brown connector, 04L906088NG9    that's what's stamped on my old one    I got one from e-bay German car parts  with the code 0000103870  Worked great was around £40 I think  Last year

Hi Cap44,

As previously reported $0748 o2 sensor positive current control circuit open Bank1 Sensor1

I have finally got round to trying to get this sorted. I have purchased the special socket with the slot cut down the side.

I also have a replacement o2 sensor so ready to have a go.

Just one problem wwhere is Bank1 sensor1 located?

If anyone has a photo of this it would really help.

Thanks in advance.

Put your hand down below the turbo, it has a steel tube covering the wires as they leave the sensor to soak up the heat i think.

Its the only 1 down there that you can reach by hand that face's up to the scuttle

Sorry for late reply.  So bought a 5 wire O2 sensor from a well know aution site. The pinouts seem identical to those on the existing unit.

However it wont fit due to a plastic lug in the top left of the plug. (The skoda original plug does not have this).

Is it safe to remove this with a pair of snips?  The unit was advertised as suitable for a 2013 MK3 Skoda octavia.

Obiously i dont want to cause damage to the new sensor or the ECU.
