Protection

Featured Replies

Hi all, as the arrival of our cars seems to be approaching, I’ve started to think about the outside protection. I drive mostly on highways and my last car had numerous dents and scratches on the bonnet and front bumper and now I would like to know if there is a way to avoid it or how do you take care of it. Thanks.

Hello Ajdolin, the best outside protection you can get is installing a paint protection film on the most vulnerable panels such as the front bonnet, the front bumper and both front wings. Based on your location you should find guys, which can install it. I will be doing exactly the same thing when I get my car. Tired of stone chips at the front end...😑

Thanks for your input, will check that.

I'm getting mine to have a decent ceramic coating. I guess its more against dirt than mechanical protection, but it does help a little.

But the best practice is just to drive far from someone in front of you.

That would be perfect if there weren’t for others, filling the long gap 😉

Yeah, tell me about it. But rather than having everything taped, try a ceramic coating, a good one. They should help too.

Ceramic will not help against stones.

I wrapped the front of mine with PPF and then a ceramic coating over the top and the rest of the car.  I can only recommend that. Especially if you drive a lot on highways and in winter.

Just curious: what was the cost of each of the two protections? I imagine there won't be that much different in Romania...

Yes to both, mostly highways and about 4 months of winter(ish) conditions. And a brand new white car (not arrived yet, but should just a bit before winter) 😬

PPF: 1100 EUR for the whole front + mirror caps + stripe one the roof above the windshield + behind all door handles + top rear bumper protection.
Ceramic: around 650 EUR for the whole car + rims
