Enabling Automatic Locking

Featured Replies

Basically I witnessed some pretty horrible events today which has led me to wonder about enabling the automatic locking that locks the doors when you set off with the car, for my own security.

Can this only be done via VAG-COM or is there another way? :wondering:

Also, does it stay locked, or will it unlock when you slow down?

Cheers.

My car doesn't have it but iirc it'll lock over 15mph and stay locked until you open the door.

Think Vag com will be the only way

I got vcds for 50 euro not too long ago, and it works perfect...

Okay good to know. Cheers, DM. :)

Locked at 10 kmph / 6 mph.

All the doors and the boot lid are locked automatically once the car

reaches a speed of about 15 km/h.

You can set single door unlock, and motion lock with dealer or aftermarket tools like VCDS.

Doors stay locked until anyone inside pulls a handle, they won't automatically unlock.

Thanking you. I'll need to get that set up then. It's just motion locking that I'll need. :)

Kph not mph maybe?

Me of all people should know the difference.

But yeah I got the cable and all for 50

I've got the cable, and VCDS-Lite, which, as far as I know will not be capable enough. So I'd need the full version, I'll sort that at a later date. I may just contact some local Briskoda folk and see who'd be able/willing to code this in for a couple of beer tokens... unless you're coming over here again anytime soon. ;):)

VCDS lite will do it, but can't remember off the top of my head whether it would need to be registered. I keep meaning to download it onto another laptop and not register it on that one so I can try things like this with/without.

I've come across very few things that the registered version of lite won't do, on this platform.

This table says adaptations are 'limited unless registered' but that doesn't necessarily sound like a definite 'no it won't'.

Lmao I was in Girvan last weekend visiting friends.

Took the laptop with me to show a mate the steering assist on the car but that never transpired.
