Blower issue, I think?

Featured Replies

All of a sudden, I have no blower, air con or anything.  All the green lights are fine and no error codes.

Am assuming it's the blower but didn't remove as my wife was leaving for work for a few days.

Should I just order a new one (Euro Car Parts? )  for when she is back or are there other things I could/should try?

TIA

Some are even easy enough that SWMBO can do them! Have her perform 10 minutes of flaperobics. (semi-randomly pressing ventilation control buttons, including same one 2 or 3 times in a row)

New motor cost me about £110 and took 30 minutes to fit (15 if you’re not a tit like me).

top tip. Don’t unplug the airbag when/if you take the glovebox off!

Thanks for that and yes will try not to be a tit!

I reckoned on not taking the glovebox out -can get the motor out OK I think.

Were your symptoms similar to mine?

Thanks

We had the same o our old Octavia and it was just a seized motor.  Took it off gave the bearing a squirt of wd40 to free it off and then a drop of oil and it was fine for a couple more years until we traded it in.

Yes, it just stopped blowing. All lights lit as normal. I took the glove box off as mine was a little tricky to get out. It is possible to swap without taking it off I believe.

good luck.

It worked ! Car came back last night so took the motor out, a bit of WD40 and all seems to be fine again. Thanks everyone, though when I looked at the price of a new Valeo motor  - £328 from ECP I'm rather relieved! (seems astonishingly expensive for what it is)
