NAVIGATION SYSTEM NOT WORKING *"This function is not available"* (MIB 3) octav mk IV

Featured Replies

So, recently I found out that the navigation system on the car (Mk IV Octavia L&K [Best spec available in India]) never worked. Considering that the car was just welcomed home about a month ago, it was through android auto that the we used maps. When I went to the home screen instead of showing the map the MIB said  "This function is unavailable" .

(i) SO IS THE NAVIGATION MODULE NOT INSTALLED IN OUR L&K (top spec) OCTAVIA ?

(ii) IS IT A SOFTWARE GLITCH?

(iii) CAN IT BE FIXED FROM HOME VIA AN UPDATE OF SOME SORT?

(iv) IS THERE A CHIP THAT NEEDS TO BE INSALLED?

Hard to say not knowing the specs of L&K in India.

Looking at the picture, you have either Columbus, which should have sat nav, or Bolero, which doesn't have it, but has all the needed hardware.

If it's Columbus, it should work. If it's a Bolero, it shouldn't show sat nav in the menu, but at least in Europe you can buy it from the Skoda shop in the infotaiment.

Check which infotaiment you have, and based on that you will know. If it's Columbus, go to the dealrship to fix it under warranty.

Are there maps for India available for the MIB3? If not then that would explain why sat nav is not available.

Are there any Octavia 4 (or any MIB3 equipped cars) in India with the sat nav working?

@PetrolDave I don't think any of the Octavia in India have this feature this feature. And About the map I feel that there was a basic map available before (like 2018/19 ish)
However I'm sure that some of the older VW/ Skoda got their nav to work after installing a chip of some sort!

It sounds like there are no India maps available from Skoda for the MIB3 (maps for earlier MIB versions are different so cannot be used), worth checking with VW Golf 8 owners though (both are MQBevo platform cars).
