Any useful software change recommendations using OBD eleven?

Featured Replies

Evening all!

Just looking for any dead handy software changes that can be suggested as bought OBD eleven to update battery detail post change.

Son sussed that he can toggle auto stop/start to be off at start up and then manually turned on on his 2012 A6, but cant seem to replicate this on my Superb!

That would be one handy change, all I can see is to switch off totally, hence the request if this or any other "handy" options are there amongst the multitude of options!

As always, any comments appreciated.

Snowy.

Hi,

There's no SW setting to switch ON/OFF the S&S depending on your mood. The solution is to buy a small cable on Aliexpress, which saves the S&S setting upon engine switch off.

S&S ON when engine is shut down, S&S remains ON at next engine Start.

S&S OF when engine is shut down, S&S remains OFF at next engine Start.

It costs not that much, and it's plug & play. But sorry, I don't have any link for this cable, and I can't remember what shall be disassembled from the centre console to connect this cable.  🤔

There is a way to disable SS though. I did that and then reversed it when it came to sale time. Pretty sure that saved my battery from failure that a lot of SS batteries suffer with.

Don't use the in built apps with OBDeleven though. You don't know what they are changing and the reverse function may not work if you have changed something else resulting in another thing breaking.

One thing I did that made life much easier was to lower the speed at which the reverse beeper turned off when setting off.

Also lowered the speed that high beam assist kicked in.

Cornering fig lights to help see round corners.

@Snowr0- if u have the Pro version of OBDEleven, I can send u instructions of the stuff I've done to my Superb over the years.

- Activated Alarm Chirps while Locking/Unlocking

- Enabled Traffic Management Notifications

- Activated High Beam Assist (HBA)

- Enabled Foglights as Coming/Leaving Home

- Lowered Cornering Lights activation speed

- Enabled Rear lights with DRL

- Coding Eyelashes to be always on (requires SLA headlights)

- Enabled DRL Menu in Infotainment

- Disabled Tailgate Beep

- Enabled Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)

- Enabled Refuel Quantity

- Disabled Undertaking Prevention

- Enabled Instrument (Dashboard) Cluster to be Always Illuminated.

- Modified Outside Ice Warning Temperature

- Performed DCC Recalibration

- Enabed Ignition (Engine Start/Stop) button Pulse lighting

- Changed Driving Profile Throttle Response

- Changed Indicator Flashing

As mentioned earlier, as tempting as it is, avoid using the OBDEleven One Click Apps - if it doesn't work, u can't revert back without any traces left behind and can cause more headaches!!

Some apps won't work, and u waste credits, even more to revert it cause it didn't work.

With the Pro version, u can do the changes step by step, and u know exactly wat u changed.

U don't get visibility with the One Click Apps.

With regards to Start-Stop - I fitted the Start-Stop Memory Module in mine years ago.  Gives u the freedom to still use the Start-Stop function at ur will, and also remember the last stated it was in when u switched the car off.

Much much more handy and practical than permanently coding it out, in my opinion.

Do you know if it’s possible to have the whiskers/needles on with the drls on the crystal led headlights?

unfortunately i do not know how to enable whiskers for the facelift headlights as they r a completely new design and electrics.

i know for sure the pre-facelift coding won't work on the facelift.
