Washer Not Working

Featured Replies

I have a Monte Carlo bought in 2016.  The wipers work but no water comes out even though the bottle is full.  There is no pump sound either so after doing some searching/reading I checked fuse 22 and it was blown.  I've bought some more 10a fuses from Halfords and replaced the blown one but it's still not working.  Are there any fuses in the engine compartment associated with the washer system I need to check?  I fear it may be the pump itself that could be bust though.

After doing some more searching I found a post from Falco that mentioned some other fuses to check.  I've done this but the fuses were all ok, I even changed them just to make sure but pump still not working so I guess it must be broken.  Are the pumps easy to change?

Has the fuse blown again. If so this can be a sign that the pump has blown.

Not normally hard.

Behind the o-s-f wheel arch inner liner.

The one pump does both front and rear washers.

It has two water pipes, one for the front and other for the rear.

I would try and run power straight to the pump when you can see it, before you take it out.

Connecting the power one way should / will make it pump one way.

Reversing the wire should / will make it pump the other way.

If the pump is working then check the windscreen wash wipe stalk.

Thanks, AG Falco
