2 questions about 1.9tdi - slightly worried

Featured Replies

ok 1st pic taken with the drivers side wheel removed. it seamed to me a black thick substance but with no smell to it. it appears to be coming from the pipe above the stain. should i be worried?

next pic i have taken is about the bushing of the arb i think and the fact that there is an oval in it is this ok as the suspension is rased or does it need replaced? i was looking for a squeeking that i get when i go over uneven tarmac which only started after i pushed the car down on the drivers side and ever since it squeaked. Any ideas on this? answers would be great

2nd picture is the ARB bush and it looks like mine did before I changed them for 'PowerFlex' ones.

I do not have the dreaded 'squeek' anymore.

I'm trying to work out the first pic.... Its nowhere near the pipe from the turbo to the side mounted intercooler is it? I always thought that lay above/behind the wheelarch liner - oil can sometimes collect in that bit of pipe, and in the IC itself. The only other fluid I thought was around that area was brake fluid.

Looks like a bit of break fluid left around from a change or similar, but i guess it could be some gunk comming out froma join to the intercooler. Clean it off and see if it reappers.

As for a creaking. Get arb bushes and drop links changed and get them to check your ARB hasn't rusted around the bushes as that caused creaking on mine.

welljust to say that it was the arb bushes and they were fixed foc and also they sorted out a couple of other annoying noises foc as well. brilliant service from my local dealer in belfast and very chuffed now. now i just have to wait for my alloy to come back and im all set again :)

It would be useful to members if you could post similar feedback on this dealer in the Reviews section too if you haven't already. :)
