I was trying to navigate to a location, whilst driving in Spain. the location did not show up on navigation, so I thought I would use google maps using apple car play, as I had done before.

I entered the precise location on google maps on my phone, connected the cable to the car and pressed start.

The screen (on the car) showed that the iphone was connected and starting apple car play.

Then the screen went black.

I have tried another cable,with the same results.

I have done a soft reset of the head unit, same result.

I have removed my car from carplay on iphone

i have re connected car to car play.

still a black screen!

What am I missing?

 

I may be wrong but wasn’t there a report of a bug in the recent iPhone update causing this sometimes?
